Summer is over. School starts today! Ahhh thank goodness. She has little people her own size (sort of) to play with again.
Emma got her bag ready last night. Tried rolling her hair with rollers to prepare for her big day at school, but her hair was a bit too short. She set an alarm for 6:32, because she wants to have extra 2 minutes to sleep. She prepared her uniform and helped me sew on the clasp on her skorts.
This morning, she got up early. So off we went this morning. Wow. Another year of school in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This is her 4th year here.
And each year we drop her off to get her started for a new school year, I shed a tear or two. I get choked up noticing her growing up right in front my very own eyes. We’ve had the opportunity to spend a lot of time together as a family since we made our move to Chiang Mai. I’m ever so thankful for that, though we’ve had rough moments and even days.
After a couple of months in the US from April to mid June with family and friends, then back in Chiang Mai for June and July, Emma has had another exciting summer with cousins in the US, and being a junior barista at Akha Ama for the most part of our summer back in Thailand.
Go forth and have an exciting time learning in your new class, Emma. You are loved!
